Preservative and Treatment
Included in the program are preservative procedures, preservative composition limits, and standards for penetration and retention of preservative treatment in accordance with AWPA standards. SPIB's Procedures are approved by the Board of Review of the ALSC.

Plant Qualifications and Certification by SPIB
All participating manufacturers (subscribers) must meet program requirements for plant equipment, personnel, and internal quality control, and pass SPIB certification and qualification tests in order to assure continual use of the SPIB Quality Mark.

Quality Control Within Your Plant
SPIB will train an employee in your plant as Plant Quality Control Supervisor and charge him/her with the responsibility for assuring proper quality control procedures. Educational courses in treating are offered, and all SPIB quality supervisors offer expert lumber grade assistance.
